All is Right

The month of April brings us the special opportunity to once again celebrate the resurrection on Easter morn – the victory over sin, the devil and eternal death.  As we look forward to that celebration, I would like to share some devotional thoughts that I recently heard from another Pastor:

Just imagine how different life would be for Christians if Easter had not taken place.  Can you imagine earthly life being all there is?  After all, earthly life is filled with headaches, hassles and many other things we deal with every day.  It is no small wonder that many people are miserable.  Without the hope of life everlasting in heaven, there really is not much to look forward to in the future.

We can get depressed if our only topic is what is wrong with things.  There are a lot of people like that – they find something wrong with everything.  There are those that seem to make it their goal in life to be critical of everything, even their church.  They rarely compliment anyone or anything.  If we were to listen only to such people, our conclusion would be that God cannot possibly be good and gracious at all.

But Easter in April reminds us that God is good.  To think that He would die for us so we could be forgiven and live in heaven with Him forever is more than we can comprehend.  To think that He loves us so much that instead of criticizing and complaining about us, He protects and forgives us and calls us His children – that is beyond comprehension.

There are a lot of things in this world that are wrong.  There are troubles and mistakes that take place everywhere.  It is easy to complain and feel hurt and unappreciated.

But my prayer is that as all of us at Trinity – Town Wilson and St. Thomas celebrate Easter this year, we can see all that is right.  The Savior made us His own.  He loves us.  He helps us with everything and will never leave us.  We have a secure place at His side for all eternity.

By God’s grace – and with His help – may we never let anything take away this joy.

In Christ’s service,

Pastor Jabs
