Adult Education Programs
“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”
Our Savior and Lord tells us those who believe in Him to abide in His Word – to continue to study and do His Word. “Abide” comes from the noun “abode” meaning “home.” We are to make His Word our “home.”
In order to do that, our congregations offer several opportunities to grow in Jesus’ Word. All members are encouraged to attend Bible study, so that we may know the Truth and that we will be made free through the Gospel.
Opportunities for Bible Study include (please see calendar for start dates):
Sunday Morning
St. Thomas – at 9:00 am prior to our Worship
Trinity – about 9:30 am (following our Worship)
These two studies will be led by lay people at the respective congregations.
Wednesday Evening
Trinity – 7:00 pm
Adult Information Class
This class studies the basic beliefs and practices of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod with specific emphasis on what we believe and what it means for our daily lives. The primary purpose will be to encourage belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior. This is a good review of Christian beliefs for members or as preparation for becoming a member of our congregations.
Thursday Morning
Trinity – 9:30 am
Thursday Evening
St. Thomas – 7:00 pm
Thursday morning and evening classes will both be taking a look at a study entitled “Promise – God Is for Us.” Among the topics we will be examining are: “God Keeps His Promises,” “Children of Promise,” “The Promise of Baptism,” “The Promise of Absolution,” “The Promise of the Lord’s Supper,” and “The Promise of Life.”
Saturday Morning
Judi’s Place – 7:00 am
Bible Breakfast
Saturday morning we gather to be refreshed both spiritually and physically. We begin with our Bible Study, talking about “Witness – We Share Our Faith.” Following our brief (30-45 minute) study, we then nourish our bodies by ordering off the menu at Judi’s. Bible Breakfast will be completed by 8:30 am so that you can go about your Saturday jobs.
Jesus says – “Continue in My Word!”
Join us as together we grow in wisdom and stature, in favor with God and men!
