As I put this article together, it will not be long until our family will be headed north for some time together – a “Jabs Family Vacation.” You know, that word – vacation -- is kind of a funny word. I wonder whether those who defined words for dictionaries knew what they were doing. In Webster’s College Dictionary, vacation is defined as

Ascension, Pentecost and Trinity are all festivals we will be celebrating in the coming month of May. We may remember that Ascension was when Christ returned to the right hand of God (a position of honor and glory); we may remember that Pentecost was when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the New Testament church; but what about Trinity? That word or event does not even appear in the Bible!
The month of April brings us the special opportunity to once again celebrate the resurrection on Easter morn – the victory over sin, the devil and eternal death. As we look forward to that celebration, I would like to share some devotional thoughts that I recently heard from another Pastor:

How does God’s Church grow? That seems like an odd question, doesn’t it? After all, we all know how God’s church grows, don’t we? God sprinkles some seed of His Word around, then He waters it, then those seeds either sprout and grow, or get eaten and die! Right?
